Hello! My name is Kirsty Shaw
I am a cognitive behavioural therapy psychotherapist, I work
online with children, adolescents and adults. I have over fifteen years of experience working within social care and mental health settings.
My clinical interests include helping people overcome obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), enabling them to live a life free from the daily distress of obsessions and compulsions.
Furthermore, I also enjoy helping those with social anxiety to face their fears without relying upon behaviours such as avoidance or reassurance seeking, that have often maintained their mental health difficulties.
I am accredited with the BABCP (British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies). This means I have demonstrated that I have met high standards of training and experience in CBT, and I am committed to maintaining standards of clinical practice, clinical supervision and continuing professional development.
Currently I work independently in my own private practice as a cognitive behavioural psychotherapist. Alongside this, I work with a well known online mental health service that works with the NHS to provide a range of mental health, autism and ADHD services.
I am fully insured and have a clear Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
When I am not working, I like to promote my own positive mental health by taking my dog Max for long walks, meeting up with friends, I like to go on spontaneous adventures with my husband and son in our campervan named Pearl. I like listening to music and Audiobooks. I practise Yoga at home, and I am also partial to reading a number of interior magazines (typically in front of the log burner with a cup of Yorkshire Tea and a sweet vegan treat!).
I look forward to working alongside you to help you reduce your mental health difficulties and achieve your therapeutic goals.
